1695 James Coulson married Isable Mensworth at St Hilda's Church, Hartlepool, Co Durham, England. (Actually technically not "on this day" as in 1695 England was still using the Julian Calendar, but it's too complicated to work out exactly which day is 316 years ago!)
1800 John Hood was born in Hartlepool, the son of Thomas Hood and Mary Robson. John died of scarlet fever when he was only 3 years old.
1815 The rather splendidly named Lancelot Hudson Halliday was born in Sunderland, the son of John Halliday and Jane Hudson.
1833 Ann Miller was born in Sunderland, the daughter of John Miller and Margaret Hudson.
